Difference between social anxiety and avoidant PD
People with social anxiety don’t see themselves as inferior.
People with avoidance have broader level of avoidance (not only specific) - typically avoid all areas of social interaction.
What is schizoaffective disorder?
Combination of schizophrenia and mood disorder symptoms.
What’s the difference between schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder?
Share some similar symptoms, but shizoaffective has a mood component which can involve mania or depression.
What’s the difference between schizoaffective and bipolar?
Schizoaffective may involve manic or depressive episodes occurring with psychotic features. Bipolar involves depressive ep with manic or hypomanic.
Probable vs Possible Vascular NCD
Possible Vascular NCD is diagnosed if clinical criteria are met but neuroimaging is not available, and the temporal relationship of the neurocognitive syndrome with one or more cerebrovascular events is not established.
Dysthymia is:
- also known as persistent depressive disorder
- low grade, chronic depression
-typically does not interfere with functioning - long-standing dysphoric, irritability, low self-esteem, and lack of enthusiasm
What is peurperal psychosis?
a less common mood disorder experienced by some women post-delivery that features mania,depression and psychosis
Bipolar rapid cycling
experience at least 4 episodes : manic, hypomanic, or depressive episodes within a year
What’s the difference between somatic symptom disorder and illness anxiety disorder?
Somatic - must have physical symptoms; which could be severe in nature.
Illness - may have no physical symptom or only mild ones.
People with SSD are more likely to be initially preoccupied about their physical symptoms.
