a. Mixed diameter nerve fibres
b. Small diameter nerve fibres

A

a. Mixed diameter nerve fibres
- absence of achilles reflex
- light touch (parasthesia in feet, diminished sensation)
- proprioception (diminished)
- vibration sense (diminished)
- ssx usually in the feet; if severe, observe sensory and motor (e.g. weakness) in the hands as well
- rarely disabled
b. Small diameter nerve fibres
- dull aching/burning pain in feet
- decreased touch and pain sensation
- tendon reflexes, proprioception and motor function usually preserved
