If you require insulin for control of your diabetes and have a clinical dx documenting that requirement you (may/may not) be qualified

How long should you certify someone with DM
You can certify for 2 years but 1 year is recommended
When can you certify someone with DM?
If they meet all other physical requirements AND do not require insulin AND their disease does not interfere with their ability to drive
What must not have happened in the past 12 months or twice in the last 5 years with a DM patient?
A hypoglycemic episode that resulted in seizure, LOC, need of assistance from another person, or cognitive impairment that occurred without warning
A person with DM will be disqualified if they have loss of what?
Loss of positional sensation or pedal sensation (neuropathy in feet).
Resting tachycardia is a disqualifier in a DM patient?
Yes
Orthostatic hypotension is a disqualifier in a DM patient?
Yes
Is peripheral neuropathy or retinopathy a disqualifying factor in DM?
Yes
