What is repitition
Repeating a movement in the exact same way
What is mirroring
Dancers facing each other and performing the same movement
What is juxtaposition
movement being seen or placed close together with a contrasting effect
What is leading and following
When one dancer decides all the movements and the other dancers copy
What is call and response
Described as a conversation
When one dancer moves and the other dancers movements responds to the initial dancer
What is retrograde
Reversing the order of the movement or rewinding
What is instrumentation
Performing the movement with a different body part
Eg movement leading with tan changes to the leg
What is inversion
When the movement is performed upside down or back to front
What is shadowing
Standing behind the other dance and performing the same movement
What is puppetry
When the motif is edited to show one dancer is in control of the others
What is unison
When all dancers are performing in time
What is substitution
When movements from a motif sre changed
What is additive
While doing the origami mofif u add something in - jump or turn
What is quality
Vary if how the movement is performed
What is change of dynamics
Varying the amount of force you use to produce the movement

When only using a part of a motif to focus on detail

Adding extra flare to the movement

Taking a movement away from the motif

When movements are added in a successive manner

Movements are made longer in space or time
What is a simple cannon
A movement done in different times in a strict order
What is a cumulative cannon
When each dancer joins the lead dancer at different points but all finish at the same time
What is a simultaneous cannon
Dancers performing the motif using the same timing but staring at different points of the motif
What is a reverting cannon
When each dancer performs the entire movement from begging to end but are separated by a number of counts
This can be over lapping or non
