personal growth, resistance to stress, environmental mastery, autonomy, positive view of self, accurate view of reality
what is personal growth?
this refers to developing talents and abilities to the full
(self-actualisation)
what is accurate view of reality?
seeing the world for what it truly is without distortions
what is autonomy?
the ability to act independently and self-reliant
what is resistance to stress?
normal people have effective coping strategies and cope in everyday anxiety evoking situations
what is positive view of self?
having high self-esteem and self acceptance
what is ‘master of your own environment’
normal people can meet the demands of different situations and are able to adapt to changes

this is because the criteria is based off western,middle class individuality ideas. for example, autonomy is viewed as abnormal in collectivist cultures but desired in the UK
