Eradicate extreme Poverty & Hunger

What is Goal 4?
Reduce child mortality
What is Goal 5?
Improve Material Health
What is Goal 6?
Combat HIV/AIDs. Malaria and other diseases
What is Goal 7?
Ensure Environmental Sustainability
What is Goal 8?
Develop a global partnership for Development
How have countries progressed towards these goals?
Some countries have made good progress but others like African countries have made little
How have the goals helped? (2009)
Poverty levels have fallen however in Sub-saharan Africa is still 50%
Global enrolment in Primary education is 88% in 2007
Deaths of children fallen to nine million in 2007 from 12million in 1990
What is Aid?
Aid is the transfer of resources form richer countries to poor countries
What is Multilateral Aid?
Money donated by richer countries via. organisations such as the United Nations
What is Bilateral Aid?
Arrangements between 2 countries
