Briefly explain what is meant by the term ‘bouncing down’, what it allowed producers to do and who used it.
Always keeping one track free when recording, bouncing the other recordings into a single track and then repeating. This allows more tracks to be recorded and reduce the limitations of 4/8 track recording. Used by George Martin for ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club’ in 1966/7
