Differentiate chorion frondosum and chorion laeve.
A
Chorion frondosum is the part of the cytotrophoblast facing the decidua basalis and has well developed chorionic villi giving it a hairy appearance
Chorion laeve is the part of the cytotrophoblast facing the decidua capsularis, and is smooth because of degeneration of chorionic villi

In week 2 during implantation when primary chorionic villi develop.
