Gross motor: what features are present at birth?
- Limbs flexed, symmetrical posture
- Marked head lag on pulling child up
Gross motor: what features are present at 6-8 weeks?
-Child is able to raise head at 45 degrees whilst on belly
Gross motor: what features are present at 6-8 months?
- Child widths without support
- 6 months: round back
- 8 months: straight back
Gross motor: what features are present at 8-9 months?
-Crawling
Gross motor: what features are present at 10 months?
-Child is cruising and using furniture to hold itself upright
Gross motor: what features are present at 12 months?
- Child walks on 2 feet
- Walks unsteadily, with broad gait and hands apart
Gross motor: what features are present at 15 months?
-Child walks steadily on 2 feet
Gross motor: what features are present at 18 months?
- Gets up and down stairs holding rail or with one hand held
- Pulls toy to carries doll
- Throws ball without falling
- Sits on a chair
Gross motor: what features are present at 2 years
- Goes up and down stairs alone but uses 2 feet per step
- Can walk backwards (21 months)
- Can throw/kick a ball without falling
Gross motor: what features are present at 2.5 years?
- Jumps on both feet
- Walks in tips of toes
Gross motor: what features are present at 3 years
- Goes up stairs one foot per step
- Down stairs 2 feet per step
- Can stand on 1 feet
- Can ride a tricycle
Gross motor: what features are present at 4 years?
- Goes up and down stairs with one foot per step
- Skips on one foot
- Hops on one foot
Gross motor: what features are present at 5 years
- Skips on both feet
- Runs on toes
Gross motor: what features are present at 6 years
- Walks heel to toe
- Kicking, throwing, climbing
