What are the three main design strategies?
Systems approach - breaking down the design process into different stages
User-centred design - The wants and need of the user are prioritised
Iterative design - repetitive cycle of creating and improving prototypes through feedback, evaluation and changes
What are the 3 ways a designer can consult with other people?
Client involvement - show them the designs and create a set of feedback from what they believe should be improved
User involvement - take a sample of the target market for input in the design process
Expert opinions - experts are professionals in the field so they can give feedback which will benefit the product hugely
What are the 4 techniques a designer can use to evaluate and develop their design?
Detailed sketches
Modelling (physical models or CAD/CAM models)
Testing
Repeated creation until model meets criteria
