Q

How did Paley contribute to the argument?

A

Analogical form-compared watch and universe, both have intricate parts with individuated purposes that work together to be able to function,we wouldn’t assume a watch came by chance and so we can’t assume the universe did. similar causes have similar effects.

Q

How did Tennant contribute to the argument?

A

Two principles: Aesthetic principle-the world holds more beauty than is necessary for survival. Superfluous beauty, God shows His love by making the universe so beautiful.
Anthropic principle-The universe has the perfect conditions for human life. It cannot be a coincidence that the conditions are ideal for us. if they were different, there would be no life.
