What causes deserts to be hot and dry?
Near the equator the air is warmed by the sun forcing it to rise, air cools and starts moving towards the poles. When it reaches the desert area it sinks creating high pressure. There is no moisture left because it has already been released near the equator.
What is the hydrosphere?
All the water on earth. Deserts have little hydrosphere, but when it does rain is occurs in storms.

What is lithosphere?
The solid outer shell of the earth including the crust and part of the mantle.

Who are the Taureg?
Herders who live in the Sahara, they travel constantly, trading salt for other goods.
Tauregs clothing.
Loose garments, to keep cool.
Keeps faces veiled against the sun and sand.
