Port Gamble Bay
Small bay on the east shore of Hood Canal, 2 miles long, narrow entrance channel, marked by lights.
Point No Point
W shore of the sound is 3.5 miles SE of Foulweather Bluff, low sandspit. 27 feet above the water, white octagonal tower on the end of the point.
Scatchet Head
Prominent white bluff, shoal extends .5nm to W, Lighted Gong buoy
Possession Point
lighted bell buoy is 0.5 miles S of Possession Pt. A fish haven is close W of the lighted bell buoy.
Cultus Bay
Large shallow bay between Scatchet Hd. and Possesion Hd. bares at low water, marked by private aids.
Picnic Pt.
SE on Possession Sound, a low sandy point from high ground, has a county park.
Edmonds
A large city on the E side of the sound, there are many houses and buildings, a rail line along shore, WSF pier, and a marina with breakwater. Has a measured mile course, 1 mile NE of town. A dive area is N of the ferry landing, marked by buoys.
Edwards Pt.
SW of Edmonds, a high wooded point, turning point for vessels running from Seattle north into Possession Sound and adjoining waters.
Pt. Wells
Low sandy point, 450yds to wooded high lands. tank farm, 1054’ long petroleum pier, lighted range to clear shoals N of wharf, and private fog signal on the S end of wharf.
Richmond Beach
S of Pt Wells, a large park extends up hill, has a charted tower.
Meadow Pt
East side of Puget Sound nearly opposite Point Monroe, is a low, grassy point with a high tree and brush-covered bluff behind it. A lighted buoy is about 0.2 nm NW.
Shilshole
Between Meadow Pt. and West Pt. Has the largest marina in the Seattle area, marina is surrounded by a breakwater with openings on the N and S ends. tower statue. The entrance to the Lake Washington Ship Canal and Locks is south of the marina. The channel is marked by aids and buoys, with a leading light. Single lift bascule rail road bridge at the east portion of the channel.
Apple Cove Pt
W shore of sound, low sand spit, projects 220yds from high bluff. There is a light just off the point. Shoal nearly .5 SE
Appletree Cove
Cove on the W shore. Town of Kingston, large marina with breakwater, WSF terminal, many houses.
Pt. Jefferson
W shore of sound, south of Appletree Cove, large bluff, wooded, with houses.
Port Madison
Bay on the W side of the sound between Pt Jefferson and Pt Monroe. 2.5 miles long and very deep. Has a narrow winding harbor on the S side of bay.
Indianola
Village on N shore of Port Madison with a long pier.
Miller Bay
Shallow bay with mud flats in the NW part of Port Madison.
Agate Pass
N entrance to Port Orchard, narrow channel with rocky beaches, spanned by a fixed highway bridge with a clearance of 75’, and overhead cables with 96’ clearance. Entrance is marked by a light.
Pt. Monroe
S point at the entrance to Port Madison. Long narrow spit hook, bares at low tide.
Hansville
Small settlement 2.5 W of Pt No Pt. Homes line shore, no berthing.
