Open hand facing face, fingers wiggle in front of nose.
All the Time
Swirl a circle over where watch would be then point to time
Baha
Closed pinched hand, very small, behind ear
Bald
Make a fist with secondary hand but have facing upward. Brush primary hand over fist.
Beard
Both hands at side of face, bring out and cup to make a beard. Make as big or small as you like depending on the person
Beautiful
Chef kiss motion
Blind
Index and middle finger to each eye.
Clippers
Motion of using clippers from barber
Cochlear
Index finger and middle finger to side of head behind ear.
Colour/Colours
C shape both hands, move up and down – don’t overlap/stack
Curly
Outline curls with index fingers both side of head
Describe
Both palms up move in a backward and forward motion outwards
Dye – as in dye hair
Both hands pinch index finger and thumb together, remaining fingers up. Motion of dipping down.
Earrings / piercings
Pinch ear to where piercing would be. Bring out motion for hoop earring or place in other areas, top of ear etc. Same for piercings elsewhere, pinched motion to where piercing would be.
Eyes
Index finger to each eye.
Fit/Muscles
Similar to a hulk hogan stance. Arms out looking buff
Freckles
Both index fingers touch face, where freckles would be
Fringe
Outline fringe with both index fingers, start in middle and move outwards
Frizzy
Clawed hands both side of head and move downwards.
Glasses
V shape to face underneath eye, middle finger of v touches face
Hair
Index finger and thumb together pinched. Other fingers up, bring to side of head.
Handsome
Index finger around face. Mouth handsome – used for describing Vincent
Hats
Hat motion of putting hat on. Can change depending on hat. Skip hat, beanie hat. Sun/Wedding hat, bring hands out ‘fancy motion’
Head Scarf
Wrap hand around head, like putting headscarf on. Cross both hands at top of chest to close.
Headband
Index and thumb of both hands to top of head. Bring down in outline of headband
Hearing Aid
C shape with index finger and place on top of ear. Can do this with 2 fingers depending on person
Like / alike / similar
Index fingers of both hands together, other fingers closed. Tap fingers together twice
Long (hair)
Both hands outline length of hair – open hands
Look
V shape with index and middle finger to eye level, move forward
Moustache
Index finger and thumb together, start in the middle move outward
Old
Index finger and middle finger in V shape tips of fingers pointing to eyes. Curl outward.
People
Sign for boy and girl together. Order doesn’t matter.
Person – Gender Neutral
Primary hand with index finger and thumb held slightly apart moves downwards in front of body.
Pin (hair)
Small pinch of index and thumb, motion similar to hair, like pin something in hair
Shapely/Curvy
Same sign as above but bring hands out wider. Can do ‘curvy’ motion, hourglass shape but old fashioned.
Short (person’s height)
Bring primary hand down to low level, palm facing down

Both hands to head, outline short hair.
Stubble
Clawed hands both side of face, marking where stubble would be.
Tall
Bring primary hand up above head, palm facing down
Tattoo
Point index finger to top of arm. Where tattoo would be.
Thin (person)
Both hands up in front of chest, palms facing inward, outline a ‘thin’ line downward
Very Thin
Same sign but bring hands closer together
Waves (hair)
Waves down outline of hair
Young
Fingerspell Y, tapping twice. Mouth pattern.
