Describe Cloud Concepts Flashcards
Define the Shared responsibility model
Based on cloud service models, breaks down what the customer and cloud service are each responsible for.
What does the shared responsibility model determine responsibility for?
OS; Network Controls, Applications; Identity and Infrastructure.
What will the customer always be responsible for?
- The information and data stored in the cloud
- Devices that are allowed to connect to your cloud
- The accounts and identities of the people, services, and devices within your organization
What will the cloud provider always be responsible for?
- The physical datacenter
- The physical network
- The physical hosts
Define Azure Arc
Set of technologies that helps manage your cloud environment.
Define Azure VMware
Lets you run your VMware workloads in Azure with seamless integration and scalability.
Define Capital expenditure (CapEx)
Typically a one-time, up-front expenditure to purchase tangible resources; A new building or datacenter, company vehicle.
Define Operational expenditure (OpEx)
Reoccurring expenditures; consumption based model (pay-as-you-go); more/extended use incurs more cost.
Is cloud computing considered CapEx or OpEx?
operational expenditure (OpEx)
Define ‘Management of the cloud’
Managing your cloud resources; Auto-scaling resources based on need, deploying resources; monitoring resource health.
Define ‘Management in the cloud’
How you’re able to manage your cloud environment and resources; Through a web portal, CLI, APIs, PowerShell.
Define a ‘cloud model’
The deployment type of cloud resources.
What are the 3 main types of cloud models?
- Private cloud
- Public cloud
- Hybrid cloud
According to the shared responsibility model, which cloud service type places the most responsibility on the customer?
IaaS places the most responsibility on the consumer.
