- serous crust (dried serum)
- hemorrhagic crust (dried blood)
Erosion
loss of epidermis
Ulcer
loss of epidermis and dermis
Excoriation
linear erosion from scratching
Fissure
linear ulceration
Lichenification
thickening of skin with accentuation of skin markings due to chronic scratching or rubbing
Atrophy
thinning of epidermis, dermis and/or subcutaneous fat
Scar
thickened, fibrous tissue
Purpura
lesions caused by extravasated RBCs
Petechiae
pinpoint red-brown macules
Ecchymosis
bruise (hematoma)
Palpable purpura
most commonly caused by vasculitis
