Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon diagnosis and mx

A
Combination of: 
• Rapidly expanding vascular tumour 
• Consumptive coagulopathy 
• Thrombocytopaenia 
• Microangiopathic haemolytic anaemia 
• High mortality without treatment 
• Reported with: 
• Kaposiform haemangioendotheliomas 
• Tufted angiomas 
• Not with infantile haemangiomas

Management
• Avoid blood products unless active bleeding
• Vincristine & Corticosteroids
• Sirolimus
• Embolisation, surgery, alpha interferon, radiotherapy
