Throughyly hand washing(to prevent the spread) Topical antibiotics (mupirocin) Oral antibiotics (clindamycin,cephalexin,dicloxacillin)
Define erysipalas
Bacterial infection of a deeper layer than impetigo which involves the dermis and the epidermis
Organism of eryisepalas ?
Group A strep (pyogens)
Clinical picture of erysipelas ?
Bilateral shiny red ,indurated erythematous tender lesion on the face , arms and legs. Lesions are sharply demarcated from normal skin . It can cause fever,chills and bacteremia because it involves lymphatic channels

Bacterial infection of dermis and subcutaneous tissue with staph , stre

Clinical picture of cellulitis
Redness , swelling , warmth and tenderness of the skin involves the legs more than arms
Define folliculitis
It’s a superficial infection around a hair follicle caused by staph,pseudomonas
Define furuncle
Small collection of infected material around hair follicle
Define carbuncle
Several furuncle become confluent into a single lesion and form sinus (localized skin abscess)
What’s the ttt for foliculitis
Warm compress no need for antibiotics but if required >mupirocin
