what is this ?
chronic inflammatory condition
thickened stratus corneum due to cells growing quicker than normal, not wanting to shed after theyve reached top of skin.

well demarcated erythematous plaque w/ silvery scale.

- 7x faster than normal
- 30-50% pts have family hx
even is psoriasis cannot be cured, what can you give/ tell the pt?

what is the *most common type of psoriasis?
Plaque Psoriasis
who does plaque psoriasis effect?
all ages, but mostly 3rd decade of life.
gradual but can be sudden. present w. small plaque on elbow only
- can trauma to skin create psoriatic lesions?
