Derm Agents Flashcards
Desrcibe the principles of absorption.
Absorption occur by diffusion through corneum, sweat ducts, and sebaceous glands.
Absorption is dependent on the concentration gradient, partition coefficient, and diffusion coefficient.
What are three examples of drying applications and lubricating applications?
Drying - tinctures, lotions, and wet dressings
Lubricating - pastes, ointments, and creams
How do you treat non-bullous impetigo?
mupirocin or retapamulin

What are the therapies and MOA for fungal infections?
Azoles - inhibit ergosterol synthesis
Nystatin/Amphotericin B - increase membrane permeability by binding ergosterol
What are therapies for HSV?
