a.k.a tinea vesicolour

Presentation of pityriasis versicolour?
Hypo or hyper-pigmented coalescing scaly maculae on trunk or upper arms
Management of cellulitis
If severely ill give vancomycin for MRSA cover
if s. aureus = fluclox if group A strep = penicillin

Doxycyline or amoxicillin
What are the 2 types of necrotising fascitis?
Type 1 = mixed anaerobes + aerobes (post-op)
Type 2 = Group A beta-haemolytic strep (pyogenes)

(1) Permethrin (apply top to toe for 8 hrs twice - one week apart)
(2) Malathion

Give VZIG
