Why is a home visit preferred when it comes to psychiatry patients?
More efficient
Easier for patients as they’re not having to go to a psychiatric hospital
More useful for practitioner; allows them to see the living state of the patient.

Medication - anti-depressants > see response after 2-3 weeks
Psychological therapies - 12 session CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)

What is an extracampine hallucination?
A hallucination that arises from outside the normal sensory field or range, as people having the sensation of seeing something behind them (HEAR VOICES).
List the symptoms of schizophrenia
Hallucination - hearing, seeing or feeling things that aren’t there.
Delusion - fixed false beliefs not shared by others in the person’s culture and that are firmly held even when there is evidence to the contrary
Abnormal behaviours - disorganised behaviour such as wandering aimlessly, mumbling or laughing to self, strange appearance, self-neglect
Disorganised speech
Disturbances of emotions - marked apathy or disconnect between reported emotion and what is observed such as facial expression or body language
