What are the DSM-5 categories of depression?
A
- Major depressive disorder: severe but often short term depression
- Persistent depressive disorder: long term or recurring depression including sustained major depression
- Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder: childhood temper tantrums
- Premenstrual dysphoric disorder: disruption of mood prior and/or during menstruation

What are the behaviour characters of depression?
A
- Activity levels: Due to reduced energy they become lethargic, leading to withdrawal from work, school and social life or it can lead to opposite effect “psychomotor agitation”- struggle to relax
- Disruption to sleep and eating behaviour: insomnia or hypersonic and appetite varying
-Aggression and self harm: often irritable and can lead to physical aggression on self
