what is persistent depressive disorder?
long-term/recurring depression

what are the 3 behavioural characteristics?
activity levels, disruption to sleep + eating behaviour, aggression + self-harm
what happens to activity levels?
energy levels become reduced + can become so severe that you cannot get out of bed
however they can also increase - you can struggle to relax + end up pacing around the room (psychomotor agitation)
what is psychomotor agitation?
struggling to relax + pacing around a room
what happens to sleep + eating behaviour?
you can have reduced sleep (insomnia) or increased need for sleep (hypersomnia)
appetite may increase/decrease - leads to weight gain/loss
what does increased/decreased appetite lead to?
weight gain/loss
