-wear gloves

-do not self tan, moisturise or use deodorant for 24hrs

What is a graze/skin lift and how is it caused?

A

It is when the skin is lifted from the body causing a shallow graze, it is caused by overly dry skin, poor technique, not enough stretching or too much wax allowing the strip and wax to bind together and pull the tissues.

What causes a bruise during waxing?

A

If the therapist has not stretched the skin enough or has had poor technique. Bruises will vary in size depending on the amount of damage that has been caused. Most common areas are bikini and eyebrow.

What is folliculitis?

A

A bacterial infection of the follicle, caused by bad hygiene after a wax.

What is an ingrown hair?

A

A hair that grows horizontally along, just under the surface of the skin, when it emerges from the follicle sometimes it will turn back on itself into the follicle opening and become compacted.
