Bureau
Generally comprised of two or more division under the command of a deputy chief a bureau is the first level of group subordinate to the chief of police
Division
And entity you lick a price of two or more sections under the command of an appointment Commander or civilian director
District
A geographical area administrator lead designated for purposes of command supervision patrol investigation and or other specialized functions
Section
An entity having jurisdiction or agency wide authority with the accomplishment of a functional responsibility sections may be not subordinate to a division when not subordinate to a division it will be accountable directly to the chief of police or a deputy chief sections are structured with a span of control that generally requires a designated section head of rank or title of Captain Lieutenant or civilian manager
Unit/Team
An entity that usually is a subunit of a district division or section but can report directly to the chief of police or a deputy chief. Sections and teams have area or fox responsibilities and are structured with a span of control that generally requires a first level supervisor such as a sergeant or a civilian supervisor
Precinct
A geographical area of very size within a district to which one or more offices are specifically assigned for patrol purposes
Official duty
The time when an officer is formally on duty and engage in an official capacity
