What to do if there is a Mercury spillage?

A
  1. Grab spillage kit
  2. Apply PPE
  3. Increase ventilation
  4. Use scoop to scoop as much as possible together
  5. Pick up as much as possible with syringe
  6. Mix sulphur and calcium hydroxide together and spread on spillage
  7. Work into spillage with brush for 2-3 mins
  8. Brush contents into scoop and dispose of
  9. If fabric surface place alloy wool on spillage for 20 seconds until visible mercury is removed
