What to do if there is a Mercury spillage?
- Grab spillage kit
- Apply PPE
- Increase ventilation
- Use scoop to scoop as much as possible together
- Pick up as much as possible with syringe
- Mix sulphur and calcium hydroxide together and spread on spillage
- Work into spillage with brush for 2-3 mins
- Brush contents into scoop and dispose of
- If fabric surface place alloy wool on spillage for 20 seconds until visible mercury is removed
