Density Flashcards
What is density measured in?
g/cm^3 or kg/m^3
What is the formula for density?
Mass÷Volume
What is the definition for density?
How much mass a substance has, per unit of its volume.
What is the state with the highest density in order?
Solids,liquids,gases.
Why do liquids have lower densities than solids?
The particles in a liquid are more loose and not as compact as a solid.
The density of an object is 1.05g per cm cubed . What would be the mass of 200cm cubed?
210 g
How do you find the mass of something?
You weigh it on a balance
How would you find the volume for a specific shape?
Length x width x height
How would you find the volume of a shape without proper measurements?
You would tie it to a hook at place it in a eureka can filled with water. The amount of water that is displaced is the volume.
