Density Flashcards
What is the equation of density?
D=m/v
What is density?
The amount of matter (mass,m) per unit of volume (v)
Is pressure directly or inversely proportional to volume?
Inversely proportional.
What is the equivalence between m3 and l?
1 m3= 1000l.
What is the equivalence between dm3 and l?
1 dm3= 1l.
If two objects of the same volume have different densities, do they weigh the same?
No, they do not.
If two objects have the same mass but their densities differ, do they have the same volume?
No, they do not.
How do we measure the volume of an object with irregular shape?
We put the object into a container with water. We substract the volume of the water before submerging the object, to the volume of the water after submerging the object. The result is the volume of the object.
(V water+object) - (V water) = (V object)
