After two years spent at the polytechnic faculty of the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), he found his way by enrolling, in 1976, at the Faculty of Medicine of Burundi.
After obtaining his medical degree, he took his first professional steps at Lemera hospital, located south of Bukavu. In 1984, he obtained a scholarship from the Swedish Pentecostal Mission to pursue a specialization in gynecology at the University of Angers, France. He founded the France-Kivu association with an Angevin to help his region of origin.
On September 24, 2015, he became a doctor of medical sciences at the Free University of Brussels.
