What is democracy
A system based upon the consent of the people through an open and fair electoral system
What is anarchy
A system where no form of government exists this may be temporary
What is dictatorship
Rule by one person often associated with military takeover and far right leaders
What is theocracy
Where religious leaders run the state
One party state
A state where there is only one political party that runs the country. They are often dictatorships and are often communists

Liberal
Direct
Representative
What is a liberal democracy
Certain freedoms of the individual are upheld and citizens are protected from excessive government power
What is direct democracy
Where all the people chose the outcome of the vote by all being there when votes are being held
What is a representative democracy
A representative democracy is when there is too many people for a direct democracy. It is where there are people that represent others in parliament
