define what does demo study?
Demography is the systematic study of population. Demography studies the trends and processes associated with population including, changes in population in size, patterns of births, deaths and migration
types of demo
demo can be divided into 2 types
formal- It a largely quantative field which primaly focuses on annayalisis and measurement of components of population change.
Social- Focuses on social eco pol aspects of poluation enquires into the wider causes of population structure and changes.
link between demo and sociology
demography is a field which is of great impact to socio. The demographic studies helped Sociology with data required for its better understanding of society. During the latter half of the eighteenth century, the modern state had begun to expand its role and functions. Hence it took active interest in the development of early forms of public health management, policing and maintenance of law and order, economic policies relating to agriculture and industry, taxation and revenue generation and the governance of cities.

Census and its dateline
Census is a systemtic collection of data on the people residing within a specified territory.
The first modern census was taken in america in 1790. Similar censuses started being taken in europe. In india first form of census were conducted in 1867-72 by the british government. Yearly ten yearly census have been conducted since 1881.
