What are Deltas?
A
Deltas are low-lying areas where a river meets the sea or a lake

How do deltas form?
A
Deltas form when rivers slow before reaching a sea or lake, so they deposit materials, if it’s not washed away this material builds up and forms deltas

What happens if the deposited material isn’t washed away?
A
Channels will get blocked, and be forced to split into distributaries

What are the three types of delta and how do they look?
A
Arcuate - rounded shape, many distributaries
Cuspate - triangular shape, few distributaries
Bird’s foot - shaped like a birds foot
