What is the definition of assets?
Assets are any materials generated throughout the course of production.
What are the needed measure needed for Vendors and Production Companies to store assets?
All systems used by Production companies and post vendors to store or share assets must be approved by AS and have security measures in place to prevent unauthorized access.
What form of authentification does Amazon require for systems that store or share assets?
For user authentication on systems that store or share assets, AS prefers two-factor authentication. If this is not an option, then Single Sign-On (SSO) or regular password authentication can be used. Under no circumstances should assets be stored on systems that can be accessed without password protection.
Who is responsible for managing Mediasilo and Moxion distribution lists?
The Project Owner is responsible for managing MediaSilo and Moxion distribution lists and must ensure lists remain current and accurate at all times.
Who should be granted access to view content on Moxion and Mediasilo?
Only users included on the distribution lists may be granted access to view content.
Can crew members be granted download access in Moxion and Mediasilo?
Under no circumstances should any crew member be granted download access.
When distributing content links, what security needs to be provided and when should the links expire?
When distributing content, links should be password-protected and set to expire within 10 business
days. Any date range beyond 10 days needs to be approved by your IMDb TV Post Exec.
Should a password be include on the same email as a link to an asset file?
When transferring an asset file a password should never be included on the same email as the asset file transfer link. All passwords must be emailed separately.
Should watermarking be included on all cuts of content in Moxion and Mediasilo?
All cuts, including locked cuts, should have a watermark burned into the lower center of the frame over
video, set at 25% opacity, and maintained on-screen at all times.
What should the watermark read for content in Moxion or Mediasilo?
Property of “Production Company Name”, “Individual Recipient Name”, “Date”
Whose responsibility is it to ensure that watermarking is performed?
it is the Production’s responsibility to ensure watermarking is performed.
What are the approved programs for storing Freevee Assets beyond the physical confines of Post vendor facilities?
Box, MediaSilo, Moxion, Reach Engine, AS-managed S3 buckets, Nightraven, and Scenechronize are approved for use distributing or storing IMDb TV assets beyond the physical and/or digital confines of Production and Post Production vendor facilities.
What program is used for Final Audio Package delivery?
Aspera file transfers are used for Final Audio Package delivery.
How will assets be archived for Freevee deliverables?
A secure file transfer will be provided for archiving assets within a specific AWS S3 location designated for IMDb TV.
What is a show code?
A four-letter show code used to track the production through final delivery.
When will episodes be considered to be ‘final delivered’?
No episode will be considered “Final Delivered” until all required paperwork and assets are received by Freevee.

For camera requirements, what should the production distribute?
The Production should distribute its intended Capture Workflow, Media Assumptions Sheet, and Color Pipeline to all pertinent production departments and facilities via a memorandum or document. These documents should cover the capture resolution, recording format, aspect ratio, and color pipeline for all cameras used.
When should productions finalize the workflow documents needed for camera requirements?
Productions must finalize these workflow documents before principal photography.
How many camera source files should be made during production?
In any capture workflow, two copies of camera source files should always be made, at least one of which should be archived.
What programs will be used during production to validate the integrity of all captured footage?
MD5 or XXhash Checksum Software
What are the most common cameras used for UHD productions for Freevee?
- ARRI Alexa (LF & 65)
- Panasonic Varicam (LT or 35)
- Sony (FS7, FX9, F55, F65, Venice)
- Canon (C700, C500 or C300)
- RED (Monstro, Helium or Gemini
sensors)
Do productions need approval of the camera and shooting format prior to shooting?
Yes. All Productions, including any planning to shoot on film, must obtain approval of the camera and shooting format from Freevee Post Production Management prior to start of shooting.
What frame rate is required for productions?
It is required to shoot natively progressive at 23.976p, 24p, 25p, 29.976p, or 30p.
What aspect ratio is required for Freevee productions?
Freevee productions are required to shoot in 1.78 16x9 Full Frame aspect ratio. Any other aspect ratio needs special approval from Freevee Post Executives.
What color spaces does Freevee recommend using for productions?
Freevee recommends using camera native color space or ACES.
How long is the post kick-off call and what should be provided by production before the call?
60-minutes. The Freevee Post Production team will make introductions, discuss general plans, and address questions regarding information contained in the guidelines document. Production will also provide contact information for the post team so that Box and Airtable credentials may be created.
What are the clock guidelines for a ‘Half Hour’ program?
“Half hour” programs should fall between 22-35 minutes of total program time.
Act Breaks: 3 total acts with 2 (3 sec) breaks.
What are the clock guidelines for a ‘One Hour’ program?
“One hour” programs should fall between 35-54 minutes of total program time.
Act Breaks: 4 total acts with 3 (3 sec) breaks.
