What is Delegated Legislation
A
- Also referred to as ‘secondary’ or ‘subordinate’ legislation
- Parliament has the power to delegate control to other governing bodies to free up time and give control to the expertise in that area
- The delegated body in charge would then look at enacting a rule
- Authority given by Parliament
- The authority is usually laid down in a ‘Parent Act,’ known as the enabling Act

What is Order in Council
A
- Government legislation which does not have to go through the full parliamentary procedure
- Used to implement matters of major importance
- A group of ministers sitting as the Privy Council usually to meet any national emergencies that might arise in the future- threats to the supply and distribution of food, water, fuel, or other essentials of life

What are By-Laws
A
These are rules created by certain authorities under Parliament, like local councils or transport boards, to manage their area or property

- Power is given or delegated to the minister by the Government
