A

Intact HPG-axis causes:

  • environmental (emotional deprivation, over-exercise)
  • eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia)
  • chronic disease
  • endocrine (hypothyroidism)

Impaired HPG-axis acuses:

  • tumours (cranial, optic gliomas)
  • congenital panhypopituitarism
  • irradiation
  • trauma
  • Prader-Willi syndrome
  • Kallman syndrome
