Q

Moral argument?

A

Everyone knows right from wrong, our conscience.
This is a gift from God.
Therefore God exists.
When we do something wrong, the feeling of guilt is a sense of God and of his presence.

16
Q

Ontological argument?

A

God is the greatest being.
It is better to exist, rather than not to.
To be the greatest being, God therefore must exist.

17
Q

Religious experience?

A

People have intense, spiritual and unusual experiences.
They do not feel as if there is anything that can account for it in this world.
The experience must be of an external source.
This source is God.

18
Q

Arguments against God:

Freud’s argument?

A

God is a construct of the un-conscience mind; seeking to comfort itself.
People want God to exist, but this is simply wish fulfilment.
Religion is an obsessive compulsive ritualistic act to soothe anxiety.
Religion is an INFANTILE NEUROSIS.

19
Q

Arguments against God?

Marx’s argument?

A

Religion is the OPIATE OF THE MASSES.
By consuming it, you are not dealing with reality.
This will not change your situation.
Only by rejecting the drug, and seeing the truth will you be free of it.
Religion and God are made up as a way of controlling the working class.
