Know about the avatars or reincarnates of the three main gods Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma.
Who is Krishna?
He is an avatar of the God Vishnu. Known as the God of compassion, love, beauty, and protection. Also called the dark one because of his blue/black skin tone. -Famously plays the flute
Who is Radha?
Radha was one of Krishna’s close friends. She is said to symbolize the human soul. Known as the goddess of love, devotion, and patience.
Who is Rama?
Another reincarnation or avatar of Vishnu. He’s known for being a good leader, loyal, and brave. He only loved Sita and never married anyone else. He is one of the central figures of the Hindu epic Ramayana.
Who is Sita?
Sita is Rama’s wife. She is a silent figure of strength. She enters a fire to prove her chastity. Sita and Rama’s story in Ramayana serve to teach life lessons, including how good will prevail over evil.
Who is Durga?
She was created by the three main gods (Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva) to slay a beast. Durga is said to embody all three of the main gods energy/inner power. She’s depicted to have many arms and is known as the mother goddess. Known for riding a lion or tiger.
Who is Devi?
Like, Durga she’s also known as the mother goddess. Her name actually translates to goddess. Her name refers to the goddess in all her forms.
Who is Shakti?
Represents strength, fertility, and power. Shakti are essentially all of the female goddesses put together. Devi and Durga are considered Shakti.
What are Vaishnava’s?
People who follow Vaishnavism/Vishnuism believe that Vishnu is the most powerful and special God. They primarily worship him and the avatars of Vishnu.
What are Shaivas?
People who believe Shiva is the most powerful and influential God. There are many branches of Shavanism.
