what does the term a duty of care mean?
to ensure the safety or wellbeing of others
what is the definition of safeguarding?
protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect
what is the definition of abuse?
a deliberate or intended injury to another person or way of treating an individual so as to cause them harm
what is the definition of whistleblowing?
reporting a concern about a wrongdoing within a workplace or social care setting
what is meant by the term lone working?
an employee who works by themselves with no contact or direct supervision

a victim of abuse sharing about the abuse they have experienced
