FLT=
Flight time limitations these are rules that ensure operating crew members have the adequate rest periods and that the flight safety is not decreased due to crew fatigue
Airport stand by =
being at the disposal of the company at the airport in case you are needed for duty
positioning =
the transferring of a non-operating crew member from one place to another, at the behest of the operator
Local Night =
period of 8 hours falling between 22:00 and 08:00 local time
UTC =
is the standard time common to every place in the world, as it reflects the solar time along the earths prime meridian it is also known as ZULU time in navigation of ships and planes
FDP =
flight duty period, a period that commences when a crew member is required to report for duty to when the engines are shut down
Duty period =
a period which starts when a crew member is required by an operator to report for or to commence a duty and ends when a person is free of all duties, including post flight duties
Estimated off block times =
the estimated time art the which the airplay will commence movement associated with departure
What is maximum FDP?
16 hours
If your FDP is extended due to unforeseen circumstances what is the min and max notice period required ?
90 minutes and 120
If fdp is extended during flight ? what is the maximum amount it can be extended for ?
2 hours, after CMD has checked fatigue and wellbeing
CAT =
clear air turbulence is not dues to the moisture (clouds) but is an effect of sudden rise or drop of the wind
Security search =
means an inspection of the interior and accessible exterior of the aircraft in order to detect prohibited articles and unlawful inferences, this includes checking all catering boxes and trolley alongside the cabin
Security check =
only checking the cabin not the catering boxes and trolleys
When is a security search required ?
when it is the first flight of the day for the aircraft, and after an aircraft has returned from a non EU country
