Subjunctive mood
To express a wish, an emotional attitude, or a doubt
Indicative mood
To express a fact
Conditional mood
Expressing the idea of (would)
Imperative mood
Expressing a direct command
Present tense
Covers what is going on right now
Imperfect tense
A past tense that tells what was happening, what would regularly occur, what used to go on.
Preterite tense
A past tense that states what happened, an event that happened.
Future tense
Looking ahead, conjecture. Stating something that will happen.
Conditional tense
Looking into the possibilities of the future. Something that would happen under certain circumstances. Based on a condition that’s not known yet
Present subjunctive
Provides possibilities of what we see others doing. Not the realty I what is actually happening, but the possibilities of
Past subjunctive
Covers all events that someone thinks occurred.
Present progressive
Describes an action that is currently in the process of happening
Imperfect progressive
Something that was in the process of happening.
Preterite progressive
Something that was happening.
Future progressive
Something that is going to be in the process of happening.
