Promotes the secretion of sputum (mucus)

Antibiotic
An agent that inhibits the growth or multiplication of, or kills, a living organism, usually in reference to bacteria

An agent with mild sedative or calming effects

An agent that induces sweating

Chorea
a neurological disorder characterized by jerky involuntary movements affecting especially the shoulders, hips, and face

Tics
A habitual spasmodic contraction of the muscles, most often in the face
Athetosis
A condition in which abnormal muscle contractions cause involuntary writhing (contorsion) movements. It affects some people with cerebral palsy (paralysis), impairing speech and use of the hands.

Causing increased passing of urine
Nootropic
Used to enhance memory or other cognitive function
Eugeroics
Aka. Wakefulness-promoting agents, are a class of drugs that promote wakefulness and alertness

Neurotrophic
Related to the growth of nervous tissue
Mnémo: “neuro”=nerf, “trophic”=trophé=nourriture ->nourriture pour les nerfs
Parasympathomimetic
Aka. Cholinomimetic drug, aka. Cholinergic drugs (because ACh is the neurotransmitter used by the PSNS), is a substance that stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS).
Parasympatholytic
Is an agent that blocks the action of the parasympathetic nervous system; anticholinergic
Cycloplegia
Paralysis of the ciliary muscle of the eye

Humectant
Retain moisture by preventing water loss through the outer layer of the skin
