Rational Numbers
All of the numbers that can be written as a fraction with the denominator not equal to zero.

Irrational numbers
All the numbers that cannot be written as a fraction, a terminating decimal, or a repeating decimal.

Real numbers
The rational numbers and irrational numbers combined.
Exponential Notation
An exponent (or power) is a number that indicates how many times another number, called the base, is used as a factor.
The product of negative numbers
The product of an even number of negative numbers is positive. The product of an odd number of negative numbers is odd.

Prime number
A number that is only divisible by one, and itself.

Y=mx + b
Variable
A letter who’s value is an unknown real number.

Term
A number or product of a number and variables raised to a power.
5, 2x, -3xy..
Coefficient
The coefficient of a term is the factor.
5x=5
Monomial
An expression of the type ax11 where a, is a real number constant and x, is nonnegative integer.
Polynomial
A monomial, or a combination of sums and/or differences of monomials.
3x, 2x-1..
Degree of a term
The sum of the exponents of its variables
Leading term
The term of the highest degree.
