Supply
Means to furnish or provide something that is needed or desired.
Includes distribute, give and sell
Manufacture:
Process of synthesis, combining components or processing raw materials to create a new substance
Produce:
To bring something into being from it’s raw materials or elements
Compound:
To create a whole by combining 2 or more elements
Controlled drug:
Any substance, preparation, mixture or article listed in Schedule 1, 2 or 3 and includes a controlled drug analogue
Controlled drug analogue:
Means any substance, such as the substances specified in Part 7 or Schedule 3 to this Act, that has a structure substantially similar to that of any controlled drug but does not include:
a) Any substance specified in Schedule 1 or 2 or Par 1 - 6 of Schedule 3
b) Any pharmacy only medicine, prescription medicine or restricted medicine
c) an approved product
Otherwise dealing:
Barter or exchange
Distribution:
Supply of drugs to multiple people
Giving:
Handing over or transferring an item to another person
Importation:
In relation to any goods, means the arrival of those goods in any manner, lawfully or unlawfully from a point outside of NZ
Control:
Means to exercise authoritative influence or command over it
Intent:
An act or omission done deliberately, must be more than involuntary or accidental
Controlled Delivery:
When a consignment of illicit drugs is detected, often concealed in some other goods, in circumstances making it possible for the delivery of those goods to be made under the control and surveillance of NZ Customs and Police Officers, to identify and secure evidence against those involved in the importation.
Define relevant
Information or an exhibit that tends to support or rebut, or has a material bearing on the case
Offer:
Express readiness to do something for or on behalf of someone.
Sell:
A sale occurs when a quantity of drug is exchanged for some valuable consideration. Will commonly be money, but anything of value will suffice.
