Municipal
Relating to a town / urban area and its governing body / council.
Suburbs
The area on the outskirts of the city, where commuters live with their families. Houses tend to be semi-detached with gardens.
Suburban growth
The growth of the suburbs due to people moving out of the city centre.
Developed
When a city grows and increases its infrastructure improving the quality of life for the people living there.
Urban greening
The process of increasing and preserving open spaces such as public parks and gardens in urban areas.
Social deprivation
The degree to which a person or a community lacks the things essential for a decent life, including work, money, housing and services.
TEAM acronym
Trend (is it increasing/ decreasing?)

A city (or urban area) with a population of 10 million and above
Urbanisation
The increase in the proportion of people living in urban areas compared to rural areas.
Migration
The movement of people from one place to another, either within a country or across borders, usually for economic, social, or environmental reasons.
Natural increase
The growth of a population when birth rates exceed death rates.
Urban growth
The physical expansion and population increase of urban areas.
Rural–urban migration
The movement of people from the countryside to cities in search of better opportunities.
Push/pull factors
Conditions that drive people away from (push) or attract them to (pull) a particular place.
