Reasonable Grounds
A set of facts or circumstances which would satisfy an ordinary, cautious and prudent person that there is reason to believe and goes beyond mere suspicion.
Criminal Offence
A breach of any Federal Statute
Find Committing
Seeing a person actually commit the offence and arresting at that time, OR seeing the person commit the offence and pursuing immediately and continuously until arrest
Arrest
Taking physical control or custody of a person with the intent to detain him or her
Driver
Means any person who drives a vehicle on a highway
Highway
Includes a common and public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, any part of which is intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof
Motor Vehicle
Includes an automobile, a motorcycle, a motor assisted bicycle unless otherwise indicated in this act, and any other vehicle propelled or driven otherwise than by muscular power, but does not include a street car or other motor vehicles running only upon rails, a power assisted bicycle, a motorized snow vehicle, a traction engine, a farm tractor, a self-propelled implement of husbandry, or road-building machine
Roadway
Means the part of the highway that is improved, designed or ordinarily used for vehicular traffic, but does not include the shoulder, and, where a highway includes two or more separate roadways, the term “roadway” refers to any one roadway separately and not to all of the roadways collectively
Vehicle
includes a motor vehicle, trailer, traction engine, farm tractor, road building machine, bicycle, and any vehicle drawn, propelled, or driven by any kind of power, including muscular power, but does not include a motorized snow vehicle or a street car
