Convergence is a phenomenon shown on an emission spectra. As the wave length gets shorter the energy gets higher or the frequency gets higher and the gaps between each consecutive reading on the emission spectra get smaller and smaller.

Convergence suggests that at higher energy levels there is less difference in the distance to the nucleus
