Doubling down

A

Players making an additional bet, placed on the LEFT side of original bet, on the condition they will only get ONE MORE CARD.

  • players can only Double on their original 2 cards or the first 2 after splitting
  • double down cards are placed sideways like a stop sign
  • 1$ up to their original bet
  • dealt FACE UP (exposed) unless requested DOWN (unexposed)
  • DOUBLING DOWN FOR LESS than original bet is an ALERT CALL
  • DOUBLING DOWN on HARD 12 (or higher) is an ALERT CALL. Must be dealt face up, no exceptions. There is a potential to bust, so we must see the card

Insurance

A

A way for players to protect their bet from a potential dealer Blackjack.

• Offered when dealers up card is an Ace

Splitting

A

When a player’s original cards are the same value, they can choose to creat a second hand.

  • Additional wager must be EQUAL to their original
  • Players can split 3 times, creating a total of 4 hands
  • Even if a player busts on one of their split hands, there can still only be a max of 4
  • Aces can only be split ONCE and will receive one card sideways like a double down (even if they reduce another Ace, they cannot split again)
  • Players are allowed to double down after splitting

Alert Call

A

Informing your supervisor of what you’re doing, call it out loudly, but keep going

  • $199 or Less is an Alert Call at The D or Gate
  • $299 or Less is an Alert Call at Circa

Approval Call

A

Informing your supervisor of what you’re doing, but you MUST WAIT for their okay before continuing

  • $200 or more is an Approval Call at the D or Gate.
  • $300 or more is an Approval Call at Circa
  • NEVER turn off your game to get the supervisor’s attention. CALL IT OUT LOUDLY and raise your hand. Call it again and wait with your hand raised

A

Changing LARGE denomination’s into smaller ones.

  • over $200 requires Approval at The D or Gate
  • over $300 requires Approval at Circa
  • I.e “Cheque Change $500!”

A

What dealers call BEFORE coloring up players.

  • This is an APPROVAL CALL no matter the amount
  • call “color coming in” and wait
  • Supervisor will inform you to “Bring it in”
