Defination of door
A door is defined as a movable barrier secured in an opening,known as door way through a building wall or partition for the purpose of providing an access to the inside of the building or rooms of building .
Defination of window
A window is defined as an opening in wall of building to serve one or more of functions like natural light, natural ventilation and vision
Condition of location of door
1.The number of doors should be kept minimum because larger number can cause obstruction and decrease utility of the accommodation .it should be provided at corner of the rooms.also for good ventilation and free air it should be placed in the opposite walls of each other.
Condition of location of window
From the viewpoint window should be located in the northeast side for maximum daylight.
The sill of window should be located at an height of 0.75 to 1metre except in public places like malls etc it’s 2metre.

Discuss swinging door
1.The door may be of single swinging or double swinging.
2.If the person is standing outside of the door and if the door is hinged to his left hand then it is called left hinge door and vice versa.
3.this types of doors are mostly seen near the entrances of residential buildings and offices.
Discuss folding or accordion door
1.these doors are used singly or as folding partition so that two rooms may be used together as a single room or separately.
2.they are made of metal or wood and used for very large openings.
Discuss Sliding door
1.Sliding door which slide sideways containing one two or three slides are mostly used in residential buildings from past.
2.it move in vinyl or wood tracked fitted to there frames along with plastic rollers attached to it.
Discuss revolving door
1.these doors are extensively used where frequent opening and closing of door is required due to heavy traffic like in shopping malls etc.
2.It normally has four wings with central shaft that rotes clockwise through ball bearing movement attached to it.
Discuss rolling Door
1.Rolling door are mostly used in garage shops, warehouse, backyard,factories .
2. They are another version of sliding doors expect it rolls upside down and made of steel metals.
Discuss collapsible door
1.this door consist of mild steel frame which is made up of light steel channel sections .
2.they are provided with rollers attached to it downwards and their frame are arrange diagonally spaced 100 mm to 200mm upart.
Battend and leged door/braced door
1.this is the simplest and cheap form of door where cost is of main consideration.
2.it contains vertical batten fixed along with horizontal ledges .
3.bottom and middle ledge are wider and heavier compare to upper ledges.
4.in case in Battend and leged door/braced door two braced and top bottom and lock rails are provided
5. These type of cheap moderate doors generally used for large openings.
Frame and panel door
1.this type of doors are commonly used in building.consist of timber framework of style and rails which are grooved.
2.depending upon requirements slashed,fully glazed window are used with number of panels in it
Glazed and sash door
1.this type of door are used in residential and public Buildings like schools hospital, college etc.
2.with a view to supplement the natural lighting by providing windows glazed and sash door are used with several design.
3.they can be Fully gazed or partly.in case partly glazed 1/3rd portion from bottom of door is used for panel section.
