What are the ADF Values
Courage, respect, integrity, excellence, service
Courage
Do the right thing even when it is difficult. E.g. when I inspired my team to play against difficult opponents.

Acknowledge and see the value in all people. E.g. i show respect in my daily life by making an effort to thank those who do things for me.
Integrity
Alignment between thoughts, words and actions. E.g. when I ask my team to arrive early, I am still the first person to arrive.

Describe Navy officer IMT
Located in HMAS Creswell, Jervis Bay (NSW south coast).
Royal Aus. Naval College.
UEOC: 1 week during undergrad, understanding of navy life and ceremony.
NEOC: 15 weeks, 4 week initial training, weapons training, boats and RHIB, leadership and teamwork, 4 week sea deployment, sea survivability

All fully clothed
- Jump from 3m platform
- 10m swim underwater
- 50m swim
- 15.00 treading water
Describe the role of a Electronic/Weapons engineer
Manage a team of technicians to maintain weapons, radar, sonar and communications systems.
Monitor performance, design and implement repairs, manage and schedule personnel.
Describe the role of a Mechanical/Marine engineer
Manage a team of technicians to maintain mast, propulsion, pressure vessel, hydraulic and other structural systems.

Describe the IET for a navy engineer
Engineer Officer’s Applications Course. HMAS Cereberus
21 week duration.
8 weeks: combined elec and mech engineers. Learn ship safety, infrastructure and admin.
1 week road trip to naval sites in canberra and sydney.
12 weeks: field-specific courses.
What happens post IET?
Deploy as assistant engineer on sea-going vessel.
Fill in your requirements journal over 9-12 months to achieve the Electrical/Mechanical Competency cert (Deputy Engineer).
2 years on shore, 2 years off.

Borders of India, China, USA and Australia meet these waters.
Scene of very high economic growth, yet low level of regional security.
What are some specific intentions of the ADF going forward?
Acquire nuclear submarines through A-US-UK partnership.
Develop long range capabilities, ie missile strikes.
Improve operational capacity of northern bases to access Indo-Pacific.
